Support Local Gems: All Season Long

Updated: Dec 21, 2020

Idaho’s small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, but the pandemic has posed a

significant challenge to “Main Street” establishments across our state. Without community

support during the holiday shopping season, small businesses throughout Idaho could face

permanent closure in the coming months.

In an effort to support the small businesses that make Idaho thrive, Jerome 20/20 has

teamed up with Senator Jim Risch to present Support Local Gems: All Season Long; a holiday

revival of the statewide Support Local Gems initiative.

This holiday season, Idahoans are invited to do their shopping at their favorite small businesses. Anyone can participate by shopping safely in person or online, purchasing gift cards, ordering food via take-out or delivery, and encouraging others to do so, too.

Idahoans can also engage in no-cost means of support: write a positive review, promote a local business on social media with the hashtag #SupportLocalGems, or thank a business for all that they do for our communities.

We recognize the tremendously difficult situation Idaho businesses find themselves in as this

pandemic continues to disrupt our daily lives. Thousands of Idahoans want to support the

businesses that shape our communities, and we hope your business will consider participating in the Support Local Gems: All Season Long initiative.

Participating is easy:

• Ensure your business is accessible online, making it easy for customers to purchase items

and gift cards, or order take-out or delivery.

• Consider offering customers a Support Local Gems promotional deal.

• Spread the word about Support Local Gems: All Season Long using the hashtag

Senator Jim Risch’s office has developed a free Support Local Gems: All Season Long media toolkit with graphics, suggested social media posts, and an email outreach template for partners, small businesses, and supporters to use. This toolkit is available on Senator Risch’s website.

Happy Holidays, and we hope to see you online!

Sincerely,

Jerome 20/20
